Naturalspiration: Solange Knowles

If anyone knows me I love a good curl, whether chemical inclined or natural curls are the most beautiful type of hair to Me. There is something about being able to take a curl and transform it into an onslaught of styles and accessorize it and the way that it shapes ones face. For my first naturalspiration I went with a woman who has lived some of her life in the shadow of a mega star, but has able to break out and make her own identity and say I am not her, I am ME.

Highlights: The Makeup Show NYC 2013

Its the most wonderful time of the year… no its not Christmas for me its the annual Makeup Show held in NYC Metropolitan Pavilion. The weekend of makeup started with the blogger preview headed by the amazing host makeup artist James Vincent who went through a humongous bag of his favorite things (move over Oprah!) Along with the highly anticipated blooger preview was the show which garnered over 7500 makeup artists from all over the world. Here to do what we do best learn, buy, watch and admire makeup. Apart of the sea of makeup artists were over eighty five amazing exhibitors which continue to blow our minds with great discounts and cutting age products to make the act of makeup even more easy and magical. Can you imagine the candy land that makeup artists were in? Nope you just have to see. Here are some photos from the show. I’ll be sharing my haul in another post.

*NEW* Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: Stained Gloss & Sci-Fi Lullabies Collection

Oh baby if just going to the Makeup Show wasn’t enough all of my favorite brands one of them being Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is coming out with products to make your smile permanent or stained to say the least. The LIP TAR: STAINED GLOSS is an exciting new texture option that combines the pigment power of LIP TAR with a  glossy finish ready to go anywhere and best of all after its long shelf life on your lips you’ll have some color left behind. Fabulous right!?  LIP TAR: STAINED GLOSS can be worn alone or layered over your favorite existing shades for added depth, and dimension that puts other long wear lip glosses to shame. Can’t wait to get my hands on some.

5 Reasons to Buy the Samsung Galaxy 4

In theatrical fashion, the good people at Samsung unpacked “The Next Galaxy” to a packed out crowd of over 1500+ Bloggers, Geeks, Tech savvy New Yorkers, and Samsung enthusiasts. For this type of show certainly they’d have to be something amazing to unveil or else a lot of unhappy techies would show no mercy via social media.

Samsung Unpacked the Crowd of NYC

Samsung Unpacked the Crowd of NYC

At first glance you think to yourself ok, well it looks the same but then your eyes are opened immediately  when Samsung discusses the very specs that from an iPhone user will make me leave in ten seconds flat.  Here are the ten reasons that more than likely I’ll be jumping on the Samsung Galaxy train sometime in April 2013.

13 Megapixels and Dual Camera

13 Megapixels and Dual Camera

1. Picture, Picture, Picture! The Galaxy S4 will be packaged with 13 Megapixel Auto Focus camera with Flash & Zero Shutter Lag on the back and 2 megapixel in the front facing camera. Hello! It’s every bloggers sidekick and parents dream to have great camera specs on a phone. With Dual Camera feature you’ll never be left out of the picture.

2. How many of you have had cracked screens? Not me but I’ve seen hundreds of them with this screen you won’t have to worry about that. The Galaxy S4 will debut with the much rumored OLED Screen with a amazing 441ppi and a Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 display.

Super OLED 441ppi display is virtually unbreakable

3. Battery Life My life as a blogger and makeup artist is ruled by my phone’s battery life or lack there of. Between Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, handling other social media responsiblities and oh yeah phone calls my battery is usually on twenty by 3 pm. With the S4′s 2,600MAH pack, up from the 2,100 on the s3, I’m doing back flips and give me the option to have another battery; you’ve got a winner here.

4.Work and Play can now all co-exist on one device. No need for the blackberry and your smartphone cluttering up your purse anymore. With Samsung’s Knox files, emails, photos, Knox keeps all of your business things separate and safe. The ability, which Samsung says is like having two phones in one, is built on top of a security-enhanced Android developed by the U.S. government.

Cases that let you see whose calling without opening the cover.

5. Slimmer, lighter, and I’m loving the accessories that will be available with launch of the S4. I need to know that my gadgets will live synergistically together and make life easier. Samsung has done a good job of making sure that will be the case this time around. (A complete fail with Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1)

Alright there is more and I’ll include that below but here is my question for you, Will you be picking up the new Samsung Galaxy S4?

Craves: Prabal Gurung for Target

Welp..with storm Nemo coming full force hitting NYC this weekend, what is a girl to do? What about planning your Sunday morning on line and online, for the new Prabal Gurung and Target collaboration. Great idea says everyone!  I’m always up for high end designers who bring their style to those of us that either refuse to spend their hard earned cash on clothes or can’t afford their celebrity price tags.

With so much color and lovely prints Prabal Gurung is giving fashionistas everywhere heart palpitations, not to mention prices that are budgetnista friendly. So lets talk about my favorites and items that I think will sell out rather quickly.

The Shoes

I love all the shoes while I can’t wear them all (wedges, flats and platforms preferred) they are all reasonable priced with amazing colors to boot here they are.

The Dresses

Off the back of the last designer collaboration one the biggest complaints were that the dresses weren’t curvy girl friendly this time around all of the dresses are A-line, a flattering type for all woman.

That Jacket

There is only one in the collection and it’s leather. With the highest price point in the collection, it’s a worthy buy with a color that most don’t carry in their closet for outerwear.

Leather jacket in Dresden blue, $199.99; sleeveless tee in First Date print, $26.99; pleated skirt in Nolita print, $29.99

The Shirtdress

I’m in love with it and oh the many outfit options you can create with this beauty for sure this will probably be the first item to sell out.
