Craves: Prabal Gurung for Target

Welp..with storm Nemo coming full force hitting NYC this weekend, what is a girl to do? What about planning your Sunday morning on line and online, for the new Prabal Gurung and Target collaboration. Great idea says everyone!  I’m always up for high end designers who bring their style to those of us that either refuse to spend their hard earned cash on clothes or can’t afford their celebrity price tags.

With so much color and lovely prints Prabal Gurung is giving fashionistas everywhere heart palpitations, not to mention prices that are budgetnista friendly. So lets talk about my favorites and items that I think will sell out rather quickly.

The Shoes

I love all the shoes while I can’t wear them all (wedges, flats and platforms preferred) they are all reasonable priced with amazing colors to boot here they are.

The Dresses

Off the back of the last designer collaboration one the biggest complaints were that the dresses weren’t curvy girl friendly this time around all of the dresses are A-line, a flattering type for all woman.

That Jacket

There is only one in the collection and it’s leather. With the highest price point in the collection, it’s a worthy buy with a color that most don’t carry in their closet for outerwear.

Leather jacket in Dresden blue, $199.99; sleeveless tee in First Date print, $26.99; pleated skirt in Nolita print, $29.99

The Shirtdress

I’m in love with it and oh the many outfit options you can create with this beauty for sure this will probably be the first item to sell out.

Merli’s Picks: 5 Best Dressed and 2 Fashion Failures at the Emmy’s

This award season I was very disappointed in the dress options chosen by the talent… either that or the stylists are on strike because in my opinion it looked more like prom season doubled over.  Welp Whatever! Made my life choosing the top five  just that much easier as result.

Who were your picks for best dressed this year?

Maria Menounos warded off my fashion blues in this flowing frock

Ginnifer Goodwin seems to always get it right. She doesn’t look like she tries hard to look fabulous and simply pretty with edge.

Lara Spencer is giving me fierce here channeling a model in her one shoulder dress

Morena Baccarin is bringing the deep V back with this smokey grey cloud of sexy

Jeannie Mai knows what to do and barely misses. Though she is beautiful here I’ve seen her take more risk. I feel like she wears this to sleep so easy! But I still love my girl Jeannie from the block on the corner of Fab Street.

Two Fashion failures include:  Christine Baranski and almost Heidi Klum

Christine Baranski you had no business borrowing Beyonce’s dress. Don’t do that again!

I almost love this dress on Heidi Klum but I’m over the high slit situation that keeps taking place.

NYFW Style Fashions

Here are more styles taking place during NYFW. I had a ball posing and twirling at the Style Network setup but have to make sure I gave some style kudos to a couple of fashionistas who showed off their garments too. Here they are in all of the glamourous glory including my fashion maven Jeanie Mai who is always doing the fashionable right thing.

Has Chris Brown Gone Too Far?

Remember when Chris was just so scrumptious singing and dancing what happen? Life has happen and everybody seems to think that Chris Brown is still hated for the malicious beating that he gave Rihanna years ago. Quite the contrary it is a shared belief that its been his erratic behavior after that which keeps people wondering is this dude crazy? His latest and what I believe most damaging to his already rollercoaster career is the tattoo of a battered woman on this neck. What was he really thinking? Its bad enough that people have equated that ink with Rihanna because of the physical similarities but his mom was also a victim of physical abuse. So do we as a society think this is ok or  just another form of expression? Or does Chris Brown in need of some deeper help? Share your thoughts here.

First Look At B Michael’s Ready To Wear Collection

Where were you on Fashion Night Out? Well I was certainly in attendance to see the amazing stylings of B Micheal designer to the stars who has created a ready to wear collection for the everyday diva. The Fall collection is to my hearts content curvy girl approved, giving a great stretch the type that allows you to feel comfortable and still altogether at the same time. Shout in church or groove at a wedding I see this collection working for multiple occasions.

That same night I also had the opportunity to get together with some amazing blogger friends at Ayza Chocolate & Wine Bar where we shared good times, good wine, good food and of course the fashion of B. Michael.  Here are the photos from that.
